North High TP

North high carries many traditions, one of the most notable is TPing the trees on the front lawn, night before a pep assembly. Seniors are the only students allowed to partake in the tradition, at the end of the year seniors pass off the toilet paper to juniors. May showers didn’t stop students from carrying on the tradition. North’s Alumni is proud to see their students carrying on the tradition. Handful of them working here at North.

Mrs. Rivas who teaches math, graduated and TP with class of 2012, “one thing that stood out was the faces and questions the cashiers would have when we would go into the store and buy ALL the toilet paper.”

Mr. Lent who teaches Automotives, graduated with class of 1977, “We never TP’d our OWN HOUSE! Usually TP’d East, West and Heights, nothing destructive just toilet paper and water based paint.”

Mr.Copeland who teaches English, graduated with class of 2008. “Mr. Padgett would sometimes provide TP for us. He would drop his tailgate on his truck and throw TP on the front lawn for us to throw in trees. We would make sure to get rolls of TP in EVERY TREE ON THE LAWN from the old gym to around to the cafeteria.”

Laura Araiza principal secretary, graduating with class of 2002, “My parents live on the river so my friends would meet at my house and we would run up the river to TP. After TPing we would go back behind the school and run down to my house. That is one reason me and my friend never were caught.”

Head Cross Country coach Traci Nigg participated in her class’s TP, “I remember we would cookout, blast music, and just have a great time with our classmates.”

Traditions continue to live on through the students and faculty of North.
