Bowdoin's AF/AM/50 Celebration drew more than 500 members of our community to campus to learn, reflect, honor, and reunite around this special milestone.
If you did not read the weekend recap on the Bowdoin website last week, you can find it here. The latest issue of Bowdoin Magazine, scheduled to hit mailboxes shortly, features a cover story on the fifty-year history of Africana Studies, the African American Society, and the John Brown Russwurm African American Center.
Talks and Panel Discussions
The talks and panel discussions can be found on the AF/AM/50 YouTube Playlist. If you missed a session or were unable to make it back to campus, we encourage you to check these out!

The AF/AM/50 Photo Album includes a wonderful collection of images from the official photographer, Lone Spruce.
reflections
We are so grateful for all the hard work from returning alumni, thoughtful speakers, engaged students, passionate faculty and staff, and all others that made the trip to campus for this truly memorable weekend. We intend to follow up with a survey later, but if you have reflections you’d like to share or ideas for keeping the energy and conversations alive, please email afam50@bowdoin.edu.
