Based upon the very first image, I decided to create a latex appliance to easily adhere the lesions to the limbs of our actor.

This appliance consisted of a layer of 2ply bathroom tissue (lotion free) as a steady base that could be easily saturated with latex. This allowed the appliance to be removed after being constructed without adhering to itself and ruining any chance of being applied. Sandwiched between the layers of latex and tissue were small disks of polymer clay. I opted for polymer clay as it would not be as susceptible to heat as scar wax. with a final layer of tissue and latex, the appliance was ready for color.
