Monday, Dec. 6

Dear University community,

This semester now readies to wind down at lighting speed, leading us to Commencement Exercises…truly our favorite time of the year…and the holiday season that follows, naturally. Stay the course, succeed on your finals and celebrate thereafter! Most final exams will end tomorrow, see full schedule link below.

  • It was great to see so many students, friends and family taking part in our Trailblazers Legacy Night, as part of our TAMIU Ring ceremonies. It was a beautiful evening and I enjoyed meeting so many proud families. Here’s more on this growing tradition.
  • We were also happy to help serve students our traditional Late Night Breakfast… and the pancakes were indeed quite popular. Thanks to our Division of Student Success for hosting a fun event that helps nourish heart and mind. Check out our photo gallery here.
  • Fall Commencement Ceremonies are this Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the Sames Auto Arena. College of Arts and Sciences ceremonies for all undergraduate and graduate students will be at 11 a.m. Ceremonies for candidates from all other TAMIU Colleges and Schools will be at 4 p.m. Find out more from the dedicated Commencement website.
  • Registration for the Spring Semester 2022 is underway. Don’t wait to plan your next semester now.
  • The National Guard will continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines on campus through Wednesday, December 15, 2021. The MODERNA and PFIZER vaccine boosters are now available to all adults and the CDC has authorized the mix and match of vaccines. At least six months must have elapsed between second dose and a booster dose. In addition, Pediatric PFIZER doses are available on campus for children between 5 and 11 years of age.
  • Updated COVID-19 vaccine delivery information, including boosters, is now available. Vaccine delivery is available this Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021. All updated hours are here.
  • Dustdevils, it’s been a great and productive semester as we returned to a full and robust campus experience. Students, I thank each and everyone of you for your commitment to your education. Faculty and staff, thanks for delivering and serving our essential mission daily.

I wish all members of the University community: students, faculty, staff and alumni a healthy, happy and safe holiday season.

The New Year brings an opportunity to begin anew, to discover even more and to Go Beyond. I look forward to sharing that journey with you!

- Pablo Arenaz, Ph.D., President
