The egg balancing on top of the two forks show symmetry not only vertically but also horizontally as it reflects on the surface on which the forks are positioned. This image was possible to obtain its composition due to the reflective surface and the black background which makes it stand out and let the viewer focus all of his/her attention to the main subject.
I took this photo an afternoon while sitting in my room trying to think of something to do to complete my assignment, it was then that I went to my kitchen and I grabbed two forks and an egg and took them to my room where I placed them in front of a black background and on top of a reflective surface that I found. I had a free day after school that day and I used the time to take this photo, it ward to take this photo since it was hard to maintain the egg balanced on top of the forks.
This photo shows its compositional element, fill the frame, on its majority. This flower takes up almost all the space in the frame which makes it easier for the viewer to appreciate and admire the great variety of colors and details that the subject has to offer. The center of the flower drags the most attention and slowly shifts it towards the edges to where the colors become move vivid and stronger.
Since this type of flower is only open on certain parts of the day, I had to go out early in the morning before school when they weren't closed so I could capture it when it was wide open. It didn't took me long to take this photo since the lightning was good, but the one thing that was challenging about this picture was that the sprinklers had recently gone off and there was mud everywhere around the plant.
The repetition of this flowers that haven't yet bloom shows not only a vast variety of colors but also a great variety of shapes and sizes. The repetition can be seen all thru out the frame and the contrast of the bright colorful flowers from the dark green background allows to appreciate its composition.
This photo was taken at night in the plant section of Walmart and it was somewhat challenging because the lightning was not the best. I designated that afternoon to go out and take some pictures of different elements and when I went to the store I took the camera with me so I could take some pictures if I had the opportunity. When I saw the flowers that hadn't yet bloom I wanted to capture the view since I thought it was very unusual to see plants like that and knowing that it was not going to last for ever.
The power line of the picture of the photo gives two types of compositional elements to look at. One of them is diagonals which is shown by the lines going diagonally from the pole to the edges of the frame. The other element is contrast due to the bright pink, purple, and blue colors of the sky in contrast with the black pole that easily stands out as a main subject due to the absence of any other objects in the frame.
As I drove out of my house in the afternoon I recognized contrast in the pole with the sky, then I decided to roll down my window and take the picture of the pole. I improvised this picture since I didn't know I was going to take any pictures that day and I was in some sort of a hurry so I quickly adjusted my camera to the appropriate setting and captured the view.
The m&m standing at the edge of a metal surface was used to demonstrate compositional element of move up close since it's very well illustrated. The m&m is also used to show short depth of field due to the blurred background and part of the front too.
This photo was taken in the morning during photography class in order to practice move up close/fill the frame pictures. This took me quite some time to take because of the m&m's round shape and the edge at which I placed it at. Every student had between 15 and 30 minutes to complete the assignment and this particular photo took up to almost 5 minutes to capture.
As the sun was coming out the crayon balancing on the sidewalk and a sprinkler was perfectly illuminated. The sun gave a warm feeling to the picture and also added some shine to the water. The picture also shows the crayon standing slightly diagonally in the frame while the concrete also goes diagonally but in the opposite direction.
Early in the morning during photography class at the beginning of the year we had to take pictures of a crayon around school. I took the crayon and placed it between the sidewalk and the sprinkler and then captured the picture as soon as possible so that the crayon wouldn't roll into to the water.
The photo of the chandelier taken from underneath shows not only a different angle of the object that is most commonly ignored but it also show the pattern from which the chandelier takes its form. This photo shows repetition of shapes on the crystals and on the part of the ceiling from which the chandelier is hanged.
This photo was taken in color but then it was edited and turned into black and white. I took this picture at the store when I saw the chandelier but I didn't wanted to take it from underneath to show a different angle, for this I had to point my camera up towards the chandelier while trying to adjust the settings in that position. I didn't assigned any time in specific to take this picture nor it was for an assignment I just happened to have my camera at the time and decided to take the picture.
The silhouetted view shows contrast with the sunset due to is dark composition and the bright red and orange colors created by the sun as it was going down. It't not very clear to tell where was this photo taken but it is easy to tell that the picture was taken out in the open or at a field.
This photo was taken from the passenger seat of a car in while it was in movement. I took this photo when I was on my way to the store. I decided to take the picture when my mother pointed the view out and I rolled down my window and adjusted the setting to take the picture.
This picture shows a clear view of a piece of grass with water drops on top of it. The image is a good example of a move up close picture with a good amount of detail allowing the viewer to clearly see the water drops on the grass. Another thing that this picture shows is a short depth of field with a perfectly blurred background.
This picture was taken in the morning during photography class when we where taking pictures for other compositional elements but I took this picture because it seemed like a great opportunity. The picture didn't took a lot of time to be captured since the lightning was good and I didn't had to make to many adjustments.
The close view of the bee and the white flower is easy to distinguish from the rest of the elements in the frame. The bee is calmly landed on the flower and is easy to appreciate both the details of the flower and the details of the bee. The white of the flower is easy to identify from the green color of the grass dragging the attention and helping to give attention to the bee which is harder to identify from the color of the grass.
After school while I was waiting for my ride I was waiting sitting in the grass and then I noticed a lot of bees flying on the grass around me. I took out my camera and started to get closer and closer to any be that I could approach to. It was hard to take the picture because the bees kept moving and moving as soon as I was about to capture the picture. I also didn't wanted to make them mad by getting to close to them or by keep following all of them around so I tried to keep a reasonable distance from them which made it even harder to get a good close view of the bees.
