Dear University community,
Last week was especially memorable for Texas A&M International University. The Rio-South Texas Education and Community Development Foundation (Foundation) announced two new Endowments totaling $1.5 million.
- The Endowments will be used to fund a Professorship in Computer Engineering and a Computer Engineering Scholarship Endowment. As I noted at last week’s ceremony, Endowments of this magnitude are simply keystone events that help secure a program’s potential for continued excellence and growth. The study of Computer Engineering at TAMIU is consistently one of our most requested areas of student interest. These Endowments will help sustain that interest and degree pursuit, and accelerate the program’s planned growth.
- While the summer may be drawing to an end, parents benefit from summer activities designed to keep kids physically and mentally active. That’s why we’ve launched a comprehensive website dedicated to fun activities for the entire family. It’s part of a virtual Discover TAMIU initiative that now includes 50 activities and presentations available online. Here’s more.
- Know any students still unsure about where they will be this Fall? Invite them to visit us at Future Dustdevils. If they are a transfer student, we also have some distinct additional opportunities.
- Don't forget: COVID-19 Vaccinations are still available on campus every Wednesday and Thursday through our partnership with the National Guard. They’re free of charge and open to all. Additional vaccination dates and more on free COVID-19 Testing is found here.
- Registration for Fall is on. It’s going to be a full and vibrant, on-campus experience. We can’t wait to welcome everybody back.
Have a great week and Go Dustdevils!
