"We've been trapped in this maze for 2 years!"

Thomas is the main character. He has only been in the maze for a few days and has learned, the other boys have been here for two years. They are in the middle called "The Glade" and the maze outside of the Glade and there are "Grievers" and if they sting you, you go through the changing. The reason why they have been in the maze so long if because the maze changes every night. Find out if Thomas can escape the maze by reading "The Maze Runner."

My POV of the quote is it is shocking and surprising because how could they be trapped in a maze for 2 years and also in my opinion it brings on a lot of questions. One question would be like, how did they end up in a maze in the first place?
