'A Spoonful of Love' is not a tribute act. It is a salute to the music and influence of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band The Lovin' Spoonful. Created and led by longtime Lovin' Spoonful drummer Mike Arturi, the group performs music that influenced the Lovin' Spoonful as they were forming as well as music the Spoonful went on to influence as they rose to international fame. All of the hits and great selections from the Spoonful's astounding catalog are included in the show along with insights and narratives as told by Mike from his unique perspective as an ongoing member of the Lovin' Spoonful since 1996.

Mike Arturi is a lifelong professional musician with 24 internationally recognized artists to his credit. Additionally, he is the founder and Executive Director of Universal Music Center a 501C3 music school located in Red Wing, MN. Mike is also a teaching artist for the John F. Kennedy Center Turnaround Arts Program and The COMPAS Arts organization. Mike is an ongoing member of The Lovin' Spoonful since 1996. 'A Spoonful of Love' is available as a stand alone show or with the addition of Lovin' Spoonful founding member, bass player and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Steve Boone. Steve shares real life stories of the forming and rapid assent to to chart topping success of the Spoonful and performs with the group. Steve hosts meet and greets and makes personally autographed copies of his book 'Hotter Than A Matchhead - Life On The Run with The Lovin' Spoonful' available to all.

The Lovin' Spoonful is an iconic band formed in Greenwich Village, NY in the height of the early 1960's. Original members John Sebastian, Zal Yanovski, Steve Boone and Joe Butler rose to international stardom as Folk Rock innovators. The were however, so much more! The group was influenced by, and created in, several different musical styles and genres including, but not limited to: Blues, Delta Blues, Jugband, Rock and Roll, Pop, Country and Traditional Folk music. All of these styles blended together to influence the unique sound of The Lovin' Spoonful and can be heard in their many hits and astounding catalog. The Lovin' Spoonful was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2006.
