A Day in Plumas County Lakes, state parks, museums and more!

Vacation opportunities in Plumas County are rich and varied - you'll find everything from state parks to stunning lakes. Below we've put together some of our favorite sites for a day that encapsulates the best that Plumas County has to offer.

Lake Almanor

Start your day in Plumas County at the crystal clear blue waters of Lake Almanor. The lake is a destination for many outdoor recreational opportunities and is one of the prettiest lakes in the Northern California region, with stunning views of Lassen Peak in the distance.

After you're done at the lake, head over to the Western Pacific Railroad Museum. With over 100 locomotives and cars, and a expansive collection of railroad equipment and artifacts, they offer a hands-on experience in authentic railroad facility.

Your next stop is Plumas-Eureka State Park. The park has two lakes, trails, a museum, and historic gold stamp mill. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the region and learn about the days of the gold rush!

Finish your day off by checking in to the Quincy Feather Bed Inn. This boutique inn has five rooms and two cottages and is located historic downtown Quincy, convenient walking distance from shopping and dining - the perfect place to grab dinner at the end of your Plumas adventure!
