Arise & Tell Groundbreaking January 12, 2020

That the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children. — Psalm 78:6

On Sunday, January 12, our church gathered outside to officially break ground on our new construction for a kids building and gathering space as part of our Arise & Tell vision to see Stevens Street continue to reach Cookeville and the next generation with the Gospel. You can find more information about Arise & Tell here.

Arise & Tell

Vision Explanation

Pastor Scott began the ceremony reading our theme Scripture from Psalm 78 and explaining the vision behind our construction project--not that Stevens Street would just have great facilities, but that the Gospel of Jesus Christ would continue to be proclaimed to our community and future generations.

Prayer of Dedication

Pastor Adam led our prayer of dedication. Our prayer is that God would continue to lead us in pursuit of the mission He has laid before us in Scripture—to make disciples of all nations. The largest people group is those who have yet to come and how we will strategically plan to reach them with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A multi-generational family

Aline Herron is one of the original members of our church. She joined Stevens Street Baptist Church as a member in November of 1947.
