Unexplained experiences as told by students by Madison Crees

"My family and I had a fire going in our backyard with some neighbors. I was 10 at the time and my sister was four. She was the only person inside and she was asleep. My dad was on my right and my mom was on my left, with my neighbors in front of us. My mom was trying to take a picture of me and her together and my dad kept pushing me to make the picture blurry. The one time he didn’t push me, we finally got a good picture. My mom posted it on Facebook and later on we noticed in our back sliding door was a tall figure with its hands on its hips staring at us. We would have thought it was a person if his arms didn’t fade towards the end. My mom showed the pictures to my neighbors and everyone shot inside to look around.

No one was there.

My sister slept soundly on the chair, right next to where the figure was standing. Ever since then, I have woken up with scratches and bruises. I see things all the time and hear things."

Story from freshman Shannon Smith.

Smith sent the photo where a dark figure can be seen.

"From the ages of one to seven years old I was able to talk to dead people, or ghosts.

I only remember actually talking with them when I was around six. I mainly talked to an elderly woman. She was the previous owner of my grandparents’ house. The old woman died in the upstairs bathroom in the bathtub. I would just sit and talk with her about anything, how my day was or even the weather.

My grandparents had moved sometime when I was seven. Oddly enough this house also had an old woman’s ghost. This one however did not die in the home. I refused to stay the night at this house or go anywhere alone. The old woman at that house was extremely cross. I figured out that if I was with an adult I usually wouldn’t be bugged by her. I remember the day of my grandma's birthday. I was sitting in the living room watching The Wizard of Oz and everyone else was outside. I sat there laughing and giggling when the woman appeared and decided that I was not allowed to have fun. She yelled and screamed so I ran outside. Everything was resolved when I was given cake. Since then my grandparents have moved.

After turning eight I lost the ability to talk to the dead because that’s around when puberty started.

My grandma has a friend who talks to the dead for a living. She explained that while I go through puberty I will subconsciously decide whether or not to talk to the dead once puberty ends. I am hoping to still have the ability once I am done with puberty."

Story from sophomore Alexa Armbrister

"A few weeks ago, I was at the hospital with my grandpa. It was pretty depressing so I asked my boyfriend if I could come over. Just as I was leaving, I walked past this old lady's room who rarely has any visitors. Just as I walked by, there was a black shadowy figure with hair over its face in the doorway. I turned my head and I saw it move to the chair.

I walked faster then turned back to see if it was just my mind.

I didn’t see the figure but the chair was still rocking. That was the first time I ever saw a ghost.

My family including my grandma, aunt and five year old cousin have what we call 'the gift'. I think it’s pretty special to have but all I know as a 15 year old is that I don’t want to ever see one again."

Story from sophomore Myranda Berner.
