Secure Base Leadership not all classrooms have 4 walls

What is a Secure Base?

A secure base is a person, place, goal or object that provides a source of protection, safety and caring AND offers a source of inspiration and energy for daring, exploration, risk taking and seeking challenge

What we believe

1) Not all classrooms have 4 walls. We believe in the power of the outdoors as a 'classroom' to encourage deep reflection and powerful learning about ourselves and others.

2) Learning is done by the learner. We create experiences and conditions that may lead to real learning taking place but ultimately learning is done by the learner.

3) Leading and following takes place at all levels. We can begin to understand this through secure base leadership and understanding who are our secure bases, who are we secure bases to and what does our leadership and followership look like when we're under real pressure? Rock climbing allows to learn about this space in a safe and controlled way.

4) We believe in the innate capacity of us all to grow and flourish, and we genuinely care about bringing about transformational development in everyone we work with. This is not 'drive-by' learning where it's forgotten about the next day - we skilfully design programmes that empower people to take their experiences back to their professional and personal lives.

5) Learning can be fun! While learning in a climbing environment can be a daunting prospect, we carefully manage and optimise the environment so that our participants feel safe, supported and energised as we believe this is where people do their best work.
