Dig Pink Volleyball team raises Awareness

Tickled Pink

The Varsity Volleyball Team hosted their annual Dig Pink Game against Carrollton on Thursday, Oct. 14. This event is hosted by the school during the month of October and all ticket proceeds go to finding a cure for breast cancer. "This was the most exciting game of my two years here at Lourdes, I cannot wait for next season where the crowd will be even bigger" setter and sophomore Olivia Marrero said.

Even with COVID restrictions, the crowd was small but mighty. The students, parents and faculty wear pink while cheering on their school for an amazing cause. "It was a lot of fun because there was a lot of people in the crowd that we haven't seen in a while. It was also very exciting because we got to play and beat our biggest rival; Carrollton" junior Carmen Rionda said.

Freshman Playing with Passion

Right side, Ella Garcia and Middle blocker, Olivia Guzman set up a good block for the rest of the play where Lourdes got a kill. The team constantly showed teamwork and determination throughout the game which led them to victory. " I love playing with my best friend and my team by my side. They have my first year so memorable", freshman Ella Garcia said.
