Top 6 Best Athletes 2020 Edition

This year has been packed with tons of new and returning players. This list contains players from the NBA, WNBA, NFL, NHL and the NWSL. They have been working very hard, on, and off the field to become the best at what they do. These players have been voted the top of their class when it comes to determination and skill. So here's my list of 6 of the best athletes of the 2020 season!

6. Pernille Harder

Pernille Harder plays forward for Denmark and Chelsea FC. After her debut on the Denmark U15 team in 2007, she then worked her way up to the U17 team and finally the Denmark National Women's Football Team. At 16 years old, she contributed a hat trick to a crushing 15–0 win over Georgia in her senior international debut in 2009, and she has continued to score regularly for the team ever since.

Harder scored further hat-tricks against Austria and Armenia in 2011 and Russia in 2013. With nine goals she had been the team's top goalscorer in qualifying. In October 2013, Harder won her 50th cap for Denmark in a draw with Serbia.

She scored Denmark's goal in the match. In March 2016, Harder was appointed captain of the national team. In 2017, she was named in national coach Nils Nielsen Denmark squad for the UEFA Women's Euro 2017. She was voted runner-up to Lieke Martens in the UEFA Women’s Player of the Year Award for 2016-17.

Here's a highlight reel of some of Pernille Harder best skills and goals of the 2020 season.

5. Megan Rapinoe

Megan Rapinoe plays as a winger for Team USA. She is known internationally for her crafty play style and her activism. During the 2012 London Olympics, she scored three goals and tallied a team-high four assists to lead the United States to a gold medal.

She is the first player, male or female, to score a goal directly from the corner of the field at the Olympic Games. She won the Golden Boot and Golden Ball awards at the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France.

Her stats during the 2020 season consisted of 170 appearances, 54 goals, and 69 total assists.

Here are some highlights of Megan Rapinoe's best plays of the 2020 season.

4. David Pasternak

With Pasternak’s career starting in 2014, he's played with the Boston Bruins ever since. He made his NHL debut with the Bruins on 24 November, logging 7:53 of play time in a 3–2 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

He scored the first two goals of his NHL career on the 10th January 2015, as the initial pair of goals resulted in a 3–1 Bruins' road win over the Philadelphia Flyers. On 29 March, Pastrnak became the youngest Bruins' player in history to score a goal in overtime.

Pasternak also had game-winning goals in the regular season in the teams 2–1 road win over the Carolina Hurricanes. In his 2020 season alone he had 48 goals, 47 assists, and 95 points. Which makes him high on the all-time points scored list with 379 total career points.

The video below is Pasternak's Ultimate 2020 highlight reel.

3. LeBron James

Lebron’s professional career started in 2003 becoming a first round pick for the Cleveland Cavaliers. After playing with the team for 7 years, he then played with the Miami Heat for another 4 years, then back to the Cavs for 4 more, and now playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. With 28+ awards and 3 championships won, James is easily one of the most hardworking, successful players on this list.

Not only is LeBron James a star basketball player, he also made this list because he is an amazing philanthropist. He has built organizations, donated thousands of dollars, and even started an “I PROMISE” school for the less fortunate in his hometown, Akron.

In his 2019-2020 season he racked up 1,698 total regular season points becoming one of the top 3 scoring leaders of that season.

2. Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes plays quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs at the moment. With his career starting in 2017, he has already obtained a superbowl victory, super bowl mvp, and regular season mvp awards.

Since all his years of professional football has been with the Chiefs, not only is his chemistry with the team amazing but his ability to be able to read the opponents defense and get a successful pass out the receivers in a matter of seconds is unreal.

He played backup quarterback all his rookie season with the Chiefs with Alex Smith at first string. However, once Smith had parted ways with Kansas City and went to the Washington Redskins, Mahomes had acquired spot one for qb.

His first season as starting quarterback Mahomes was NFL Most Valuable Player, Best Offensive Player, and returned as a 3x Pro Bowl All-Star.

1. Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers has been with Green Bay since the start of his professional career in 2005. For the first three years of his career he too was a backup. Once playing starting quarterback, Rodgers had led Green Bay to their fourth Super Bowl win. He had also won the Most Valuable Player Award for that Super Bowl and for the regular season.

Not only has Aaron Rodgers won 20+ awards in his NFL career, but he also holds 9 NFL quarterback records.

Rodgers has led the NFL five times in touchdown-to-interception ratio (2011, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020); five times in lowest passing interception percentage (2009, 2014, 2018, 2019, 2020); three times in passer rating (2011, 2012, 2020) touchdown passing percentage (2011, 2012, 2020) and in total touchdowns (2011, 2016, 2020); twice in touchdown passes (2016, 2020) and once in yards per attempt (2011) and once in completion percentage (2020).
