“The umbrellas blocked between 77 percent and 99 percent of UV radiation,” says Suephy Chen and colleagues at Emory University in Atlanta.
If the sun is shining and sunscreen isn't handy, grab an umbrella for shade. A recent study shows that any handheld umbrella can block at least three-quarters of ultraviolet (UV) light on a sunny day. Dark colored umbrellas, like the time-tested black umbrella, blocked 99 percent of UV rays.
As the trend of walking meetings or "walk and talk" are at an all time high, this is the perfect time to offer your employees protection from the sun.
