Community: The common themes from our 6th and 7th grade student were about their academics, art endeavor, and building relationships.

First Week Reflections:

This will be my practice periodically to share some school wide and leadership reflections that will serve well for our growth as a community.

Celebrations

  1. Really appreciate the support and feedback offered from staff, students, parents, and administration throughout this past week to help our school community transition back to school in full capacity.
  2. Our students were excited to be back in the building and responded well to some of the procedural changes.
  3. The morning assigned areas has helped minimize students arriving to class before teachers are available for supervision.
  4. Flexibility was on display among staff, students, and parents while navigating through some first week hiccups (some avoidable some unexpected) that included traffic volume, bus delays, rainstorms, cafeteria line closed due to damage caused by rainstorms, and school wide transitions.
  5. We have so many student highlights and success stories at the start of the year.
  6. Students responded well to our Welcome Back assemblies and were able to get their school picture.

Growth Opportunties

  1. Continue to work on clear and consistent communication regarding procedures and expectations.
  2. Continue to work on Arrival and Dismissal Procedures.
  3. Continue to Foster relationships among our students, parents and each member of the Cab Community.
  4. Continue to be flexible while we adjust back to having a school back to full capacity in almost two years.
  5. Remember to use QR Code to Sign In and Out
  6. Leadership Reflection: Continue to improve on communication, procedures, and protocols.
  7. Leadership Reflection: Continue to seek support from our staff, parents, and students during this transition as the new Dean.
  8. Leadership Reflection: Continue to learn the lay of the land and ask more questions.
  9. Leadership Reflection: Continue to build relationships and create space for collaboration.
