Hair Lab is an App where the user is in control of customizing their own hairstyle, while also being able to preview that style on themselves before receiving it. They will also be able to export the new style to the barber of their picking once complete.
Customization
We provide our customers with greater customization and individuality. Many younger men may prefer custom styles and cuts that are individual to them and the shape of their face. We allow men to customize the hairstyle they want to see on themselves in 360 degree angle to get a true sense of how the style and cut will look on you. In this page you are able to customize each section of your hair to create the hairstyle that best fits the individual.
Exporting Hairstyle
We allow our customer to share their Hair styles with their personal stylist or barber. For example, someone who is contemplating a new look and creates a style they like, they can send their own custom style with the exact measurements to the stylist or barber directly. This ensures an accurate haircut every single time. Men never have to worry again about receiving an appalling haircut again.
Social Media Interface
Being able to share and get ideas from others who use the App is a huge plus. Boring presets haircuts are a thing of the past. Sharing one’s custom styles as well as trying other’s styles and cuts that may inspire someone. Social media has become ingrained in our everyday life. Our customers can enjoy sharing their hairstyles with everyone.
Online Surveys & Interviews
We conducted our research through online surveys and one on one interviews. Our smallest research was gathered by our online surveys which was posted on several facebook groups. It was very difficult to find a group that consisted of this topic. Non the less our surveys still gave us some good feedback and helped us narrow down our target audience. Our one on one interviews gave us the most best results. We were able to get much more feedback by doing interviews rather than just having people pick an answer on a survey. The research we have gathered from the interviews allowed us to exactly pin point what problems men faced when deciding on a new hairstyle, it had also led us to creating new unique features for our users that none of our competitors were doing.

“ At times yes when I got the style that I have now I did, the first couple of times I showed him and he didn’t get it right, the first time wasn’t even close but then he finally got it after I made him explain it and corrected what need to be. ”
In order for Hair Lab to pin point their target audience they had created two personas. This way they were able to further understand exactly who their customers were and what drew their attention.
Each persona are different audiences that we're targeting our products for. Which in this case would be men ages 15-28 and barbers/stylists. By doing these personas we're is able to focus on design and development of our application to draw in our target audiences.
Our main competitor is L’Oreal. L’Oreal has a much more advanced technology system for their application. In L’Oreal app you are able to see the style in a live video feed. While L’Oreal mainly targets women to their app they still pose a threat to Hair Lab because if they were to expand their target audience they could prudentially steal customers away. Nevertheless Hair Lab still contains features that L’Oreal hasn’t even explored yet, which makes them a much stronger candidate.
Unlike L’Oreal or any other competitor Hair Lab puts its main focus on the customization and sharing design, of the hairstyles for the users. Even though L’Oreal may have a more sophisticated technology, they lack in personalization for each individual user which is what our audiences are looking for.
Secondary Competition
Our secondary competition are Hairstyle Try on & Hair Salon, Hair Zapp and Hair and Beard Styles. These competitors allow the customers to preview a set hairstyle on the individual. These competitors lack what we don't which is a way to design and create your own hairstyle instead of using preset one. We also allow you to sent the style you have created to the barber or stylist, which no other competitor is doing.
For us having these capabilities makes them superior to their competitors due to the fact that they offer communization and hair sharing which no other application is offering.

Instagram & Facebook
Our main advertisement exposer would be on social media. We have advertisements on Facebook and Instagram, we still continue to explore other realms of social media applications where we can advertise our brand and connect with our target audience.
We use photography to grab our viewers attention. During our studies we found that our audiences were engaging with photography much more than illustrations. We will continue to create captivating ads for our audiences showcasing what is possible to create with their App.
Web Banners
We continue our social media marketing strategy by creating web banner advertising. These Ads will be displayed on a variety of websites. By creating web banners we're able to attractively display our product online in a low cost effective way.
Each web banner will either contain a call to action or clever slogans that stick in your head. Others will also have key points that the App offers. Once the viewer is interested they would be able to click the banner and from there it will direct you to the app store so you are able to download the app. This App is available for mobile devices as well as tablets and ipads.
In order for us to be a successful company digitally, we need to use search engine optimization. Our researchers have created search algorithms using key terms that best fits their target audiences as well as their company to be a successful in the digitally world.
