Six Nittany Lions scored in double figures as the Nittany Lions earned an 84-46 season-opening win vs. Maryland Eastern Shore Nov. 5.

Senior forward Lamar Stevens (right) led Penn State with 17 points on 50-percent shooting from the field, while senior forward Mike Watkins posted his 27th double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

HEAD COACH PATRICK CHAMBERS

  • Head Coach Patrick Chambers is in his ninth season leading the Nittany Lions and now has 128 wins at Penn State, fifth on the program’s all-time list.
  • Chambers players have earned 29 Big Ten Conference honors, the most under any Penn State coach.
  • Chambers has 14 wins over Associated Press-ranked opponents, most of any Nittany Lion basketball coach.
  • The Philadelphia native previously spent two seasons as head coach at Boston University, guiding the Terriers to their first NCAA Tournament berth in nine years in 2010-11.
  • Chambers was also associate head coach of a Villanova team that reached the 2009 Final Four.

  • Junior forward Nigel Jackson is the Seahawks' leading returning scorer with 6.8 points per game last season. He also was second on the team with 18 blocks. In addition, Wagner features three transfers with Division I experience: Atiba Taylor (Youngstown State), Patrick Szpir (Chicago State) and Curtis Cobb III (Massachusetts).
  • Head coach Bashir Mason, now in his eighth year, has led the Seahawks to NEC regular season titles and NIT appearances in two of the last four seasons. He is also the fastest coach to win 100 games in Wagner history and has guided 13 All-NEC selections.

Junior Guard

  • Wheeler finished second on the team with 89 assists and 47 steals in 2018-19.
  • Recorded career-best nine assists and three steals in the Nittany Lions' regular-season finale vs. Illinois.
  • Set a freshman program record with 52 steals and shared program record for most games played in a season (39) with Shep Garner and Lamar Stevens.

The Bryce Jordan Center, one of the premier collegiate basketball facilities in the nation, is the home of the Penn State Nittany Lions. Located on Curtin Road adjacent to Beaver Stadium, the spacious arena has a seating capacity of 15,261 for basketball and 16,000-plus for other events. The Jordan Center has a variety of uses, including athletic competitions, commencements and other academic events, trade shows, popular music concerts, artistic and cultural performances and family events. The Bryce Jordan Center is the largest arena in the state outside of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
