MESSAGE from David Puertollano, Chair, Nyamba Buru Yawuru (NBY)

Yawuru leaders and community have developed a very clear vision and strategy to sustainably increase the wellbeing of Yawuru people, which in turn helps build a more sustainable and successful Broome.

2020 has seen many of those strategic initiatives reach major milestones which will see them make a significant contribution to our local community in coming years.

I am proud of the leadership role that NBY is building within the Broome community. I hope our strategy with its strong focus on good governance, and collaboration with our ILUA partners provides a future model for regional investment that reduces Aboriginal disadvantage in our State and builds stronger communities for everyone.

We look forward to continuing our collaborations with all partners and contributing to the Broome community into the future.
