Letter to our partners Missionary Kenneth Bae

Hello, I'm Missionary Kenneth Bae. The past two years were challenging for everyone, and I assume you would have gone through the same struggle. Now though, the heat has passed, and the harvest season has come when five grains and fruits ripen. I hope and pray all things will bear fruit out of all the hardships and suffering you had to go through as well.

Since the foundation of NGI, I have spoken to domestic and foreign rallies and lectures more than 150 times over the past four years. I ran breathlessly at the front line of the North Korean ministry, and it took a toll on my body and spirit as well. And I went through a couple of surgeries and was hospitalized five times last year. Since April, I spent three months sabbatical at the University of Nations campus in Hawaii to rest and recover.

While recovering, I also experienced the pain of sending my mother into the hands of God. She was one of the most significant supports to endure when I was detained in North Korea. When I was detained in North Korea, she prayed for me every day, and my heart broke to lose my mother suddenly, who even came to North Korea and met me. Thank you to everyone who prayed for my mother and gave me words of consolation.

Now, I feel the love of the Father God as I watch the fall semester, the eighth semester of Nehemiah English School, begins. And the learning procession of the next generation of 60 North Korean refugees started again. Through the dedicated mission teams of the NGI, they will be established as disciples of Jesus Christ and grow into Nehemiahs for this generation.

I hope that we can be remote support to them to be the ones who will live in a unified Korea for the next 10 years and 20 years. They will declare, "Only Jesus is the hope" and will be the ones who will lead the era of revival. I confess that we could never have run this far without your interest and dedication so far. We ask you to continuously partner with us to rebuild the next generation of North Korean refugees as Nehemiahs of this generation as priming water for unification. I pray that small devotion and prayers will gather to experience the impossible. Thank you.
