We held a successful Crime Reduction Event with the local Neighbourhood Policing Team on 16th July at Peterley Manor Farm, Prestwood. Lots of useful crime prevention advice was given to shoppers.

Neighbourhood Watch

We noticed there are only a few NHW schemes in Denham so we organised promotional letter drops with PCSO Paul Dobbin. We visited a number of roads within Denham and we have already had four residents come forward requesting more information on how to set up a scheme. We will keep you updated with any new schemes that are set up.

In June and July a number of new NHW schemes across the Chiltern district have been set up and existing schemes have been refreshed. Schemes include:

  • Moor Road (Part) - Chesham Bois
  • Fir Trees Estate - Austenwood
  • Hogback Wood Road - Knotty Green
  • Lollards Close - Amersham
  • Joiners Lane - Chalfont St. Peter
  • Chesham Lane - Chalfont St. Peter
  • Germains Close - Chesham
  • Loudhams Wood Lane - Little Chalfont
  • Mill Lane - Chalfont St. Giles
  • Sandycroft - Little Chalfont
  • Penn Avenue - Chesham

The following businesses/ shops are members of the safe place scheme in Holtspur:

  • Beacon Sports Centre
  • Beaconsfield Fire Station
  • First 4 Service
  • Londis
  • Warwick Doors & Windows

Purse Dipping

We are reminding Chiltern and South Bucks residents to be vigilant with their personal belongings when shopping and when using a cash machine. Below you will find some useful prevention and suspicious activity tips.

You may spot us in your local supermarket with your Neighbourhood Policing Team in the upcoming weeks. We will be providing shoppers with purse bells and purse chains to help keep belongings safe and secure.

Signal Blocking Pouches

Most new cars now use a vicinity key which opens and activates your car from its signal instead of using a physical key. To avoid becoming a victim of keyless vehicle theft your vicinity key should be kept in a signal blocking pouch when not in use to stop the signal.

Keyless vehicle theft is where a vehicle is stolen without the thief having physical access to the key. Thieves use a signal boosting device which picks up and boosts the signal detected from your vicinity key to the vehicle, making your vehicle think the key is nearby.

We are pleased to be offering Chiltern and South Bucks residents free signal blocking pouches to deter such thefts. Contact us to receive yours: Communitysafety@chilternandsouthbucks.gov.uk One per household, must be a Chiltern or South Bucks resident, whilst stocks last.

We will be holding stocks of both message in a wallet and message in a bottle. If you are a Chiltern or South Bucks resident and would like one please contact us.
