Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College has athletic facilities better than any community college in the state of Mississippi. The school is committed to providing the best support for its student-athletes, as evidenced by the MGCCC Driving Range and the King Center, which opened in 2016.
The MGCCC Driving Range is always available to golfers to hone their games. There are a chipping green and other features to work on their short games.
The MGCCC Driving Range has a locker room for the players' use, including a wide variety of instructional equipment and an indoor putting green for all-weather use.
Gulf Coast is able to take advantage of the finest courses in American located right here in South Mississippi. The golf team frequently practices at these courses.
Designed by Mark McCumber in 1986, Windance Country Club is an 18-hole championship course features over 6,600 yards of challenging golf complete with breathtaking landscapes, rolling hills and lush greens. Named Golfweek magazine's "Best Places You Can Play" for three consecutive years, Windance has a four-star rating by Golf Digest magazine and has been host to both the Ben Hogan and Nike tours with past winners including: 2003 U.S. Open Champion Jim Furyk, 1996 The Open Champion Tom Lehman, and 2005, 2006 Senior Open Champion Alan Doyle.
Originally opened in 1998, The Oaks Golf Club is nestled amongst majestic timberlands and native wetlands providing one of the most unforgettable golfing experiences on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The striking par-72 layout is highlighted by strategic bunkering, dramatic green complexes and a meandering routing and creates a serene and tranquil golf experience. Throughout its history, The Oaks has received numerous awards and accolades including being honored by Golf Digest as one of the “Top Ten Courses” in Mississippi, voted as the “Best Course on the Coast,” by readers of Coast Magazine and selected as the 2003 “Golf Course of the Year for the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” by the National Golf Course Owners Association. The Oaks has challenged some of the best players in the country as a former host of Nike Tour/Buy.com Tour events in 1999 and 2000 (now the PGA Tour’s Web.com Series) and having hosted the first stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying School in 2003.
The King Center contains the MGCCC Athletic Department offices. Classrooms are used by the entire student body, and all sports take advantage of the spacious Encore Rehabilitation/Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists Training Facility.
The training facility has the latest rehabilitation technology to treat bumps and bruises and get players back on the field quickly and safely.
The Athletic Performance Facility has all the best equipment to get our student-athletes ready to play.
