Teacher Referral (Step 1)
Teacher is concerned about a student that is NOT responding to core instruction OR strategic instruction/supports, according to progress monitoring data.
- Teacher has collaborated with PLC/SST.
- Teacher has notified parents of concerns, and collected artifacts of student work as well as a record of Curriculum Based Measurement (CBM) assessments so far.
- Teacher has notified admin/counseling of intent to contact RTI coordinator and begin intensive instruction
Parent Referral (Step 1)
Parent is concerned that their child is having difficulty in school, including problems with academics or behaviors.
- Admin/Counselor has met with parent to ensure appropriate Tier 1-2 supports have been exhausted.
- Collaboration with teachers/SST has occurred.
- Childfind form has been used to document plan of support that was provided for student, including record of CBM assessments so far.
- Contact RTI coordinator as necessary and begin intensive instruction.
Student has been referred to RTI Team (Step 2)
- Coordinator/School Psych notifies staff for the team.
- Shared Google Drive is created with student's name.
- Staff uploads student's work artifacts on drive
- Coordinator schedules first meeting with parent and RTI team to create plan/goals for instructions/assessments and to designate responsibilities.
- Student's RTI team communicates often and convenes regularly.
Continued Support (Step 3)
- Classroom teachers follow through on instruction/assessment plan with fidelity.
- Other members of the team, including parents, follow through with responsibilities listed on the plan.
RTI team monitors progress regularly (Step 4)
Based on success of interventions or trajectory of progress, RTI team meets to make a determination on eligibility for Special Education.
