Netflix Ratings 101 By: MARY SEIBT

Over the course of multiple weeks, plus prior late night binges of different shows, I have concluded my final opinions on a series of shows, documentaries, and movies to watch and some to avoid on Netflix.

10/10

This has to be the best show I have watched in a long time, off of Netflix, but also just in general. It takes place in Beverly Hills and Compton where this young athlete's life is juxtaposed as he lives part time in both cities. Although this is a football show, anyone and everyone can enjoy this show for its endearing characters and plot.

9.5/10

For some, Criminal Minds is too creepy and frightening to watch. However, the connections in the cast as well as the process to solving murder cases and setting up a criminal profile to solve those cases is beyond fascinating. The 15 season series show never fails to keep me entertained and on my toes as the episodes never fail to amaze me.

9/10

A medical rom-com show to say the least! I started this show a while back but cannot get enough of it! Similar to Criminal Minds, this show can be somewhat gross and disturbing from the medical conditions, but the relationships, love triangles, and unassuming friendships and tragedies make up for it 100%. This is a show that can be played in the background while doing homework, but can also be watched for hours on end without getting boring.

8.7/10

Wow, where to even START with this documentary series. Usually, I spend less TV time on documentaries, however this nationally popular show struck my attention. I have not finished this show completely, but just from the first 10 episodes, I can proudly say that this show is the strangest yet most engaging show ever. It's super interesting to learn about these crazy activities that are happening in our own country, that I thought could never happen. Crazy would be an understatement.

8.7/10

Be prepared to cry your eyes out with this one. This sob story of these two unexpected teens who fall in love will leave you speechless and devastated by the end. Although the book All The Bright Places, is definitely better, the director did a wonderful job with this movie.

3/10

Around 2am one night, or should I say morning, I decided to watch the Netflix Original, Midnight Sun. I have never been more disappointed in my life. I called the ending right as the movie started and the acting was unbearable. I was hoping the movie would be interesting as it was about a teen girl who was allergic to sunlight, but let me tell you it was not. Save your time and go to sleep instead!

10/10

The few live shows recorded at certain theaters, will have you gasping for air because of how funny and somewhat relatable John Mulaney, a comedian, really is. I do not recommend this to younger viewers as it is somewhat inappropriate, but my family of teenagers enjoys watching his shows all together for a good laugh.

9.4/10

Lastly, one of my favorite shows from about a year ago, is a must watch. The main character finds herself in "the good place" after dying on Earth. This show never fails to make me laugh at how ridiculous and funny the plot of the show turns out to be. It is also known for its plot twists and cliff hangers at the end of each season. Add it to your list!

Well I hope this helps when deciding what to watch as a family, or individually, during this long break we all have! I truly recommend the majority of those Netflix Originals as well as other shows on Netflix as they are all different and VERY unique in their own way.
