The Steven Peeler Newsletter Bringing you the news since 1906

Welcome to the Steven Peeler Newsletter. Thanks for coming out, I hope you were able to find parking. We do validate. What is the Steven Peeler Newsletter? Well, it's a weekly newsletter where I talk about whatever is on my mind. What's typically on my mind? A bunch of things. School, music, other stuff. Ultimately, this newsletter is a way for people to keep up with me, instead of having to stay up late at night and ponder about what I'm up to. Will anyone read this? Probably not. Is this just a platform for my ego? Absolutely. Everything I do is.

As many of you know, newsletters have recently gone out of print. I got my start as a newsletter delivery boy when I was 15. Being a newsletter delivery boy runs in my family. My great great grandfather Steven Peeler 1880 Edition (he was very into branding), started one of the first ever newsletters called News in the from of a letter. He was also the most straight forward guy in his town. So as you can imagine, the transition to digital has been tough. We had to let a lot of people go. Like, almost everyone. It's literally just me now. And I almost fired myself. I still might. I have a performance review next week. I hope I pass. Wish me luck!

What's going on in my life? I recently got a job at Warby Parker. I sell sight. Sight is a hot commodity these days. It's what all the kids are into. All of the celebrities and influencers are using both of their eyes nowadays. Personally, I'm nostalgic for when a celebrity only had to use one of their eyes to gain notoriety. The one-eyed era of movies was the best the motion picture industry has ever been. Classics like I only need one eye to love you. And Two eyes are for fools; One eyes are forever. It was a much simpler time back then.

Besides moonlighting as a low-key medical professional, I'm about to enter the final term of my college career. I will be earning my degree in advertising management. It takes awhile to get your hands on these degrees. At the start of each term, I would wake up early and hop on the Portland State website at 8 A.M. to try and buy an advertising degree before they sold out, because they sell out fast. I would then go on the secondary markets to try and buy them, but the prices were always doubled. Instead, I had to take four years worth of courses to get the degree. It was old-fashioned, but in the end, it was worth it. I will say, I enjoy that each year PSU adds new flair to the degree. My personal favorite is this years 2018-2019 PSU Super-max job guarantee resume building ultraboost four-door Advertising Degree. They've really added the latest and greatest technology.

I really enjoy learning. I learned that I like learning in college. The first week of school is upon us, and I love the pageantry of the first week of school. It's like a high school reunion for people who didn't go to high school together. We all have name tags, talk about what we've accomplished, and attempt to network with each other. My least favorite part of the first week of school are the awkward class introductions. Why do we have to know each others names? On a similar note, why do we have names in the first place? Anyway, no one likes talking about themselves in front of the class. But I think I have a solution for this. Let's all just meet up before hand and introduce ourselves so we don't have to awkwardly do it in front of everyone. Or, if you happen to be reading this and have a class with me, let me take a few sentences to introduce myself. My name is Steven and I'm an advertising major. See, that's it. I didn't even need a second sentence. I should teach a class on introducing yourself. For the final, you have to introduce yourself.

[Bell Rings] Well, look at the time. It appears my newsletter writing session is over for the day. I hope you stick with me, and read as many of these newsletters as you can. (If you read 10, you'll receive a fruit basket.) This will be fun, silly, and silly fun. I just like to write. And I hope you like reading what I write. See you next week.
