From August 9th through 18th, the 437 members of Team Sask brought Saskatchewan to its best-ever finish at the Western Canada Summer Games.
Welcoming six western provinces and northern territories to our own backyard, our team earned second place overall with 213 medals and 168 game points while showcasing the very best of our prairie hospitality in Swift Current.

Everyone who’s been there knows: there’s no energy like that of a multi-sport games. Team Sask embraced to the fullest all that was a part of the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games.
Loading the bus, settling into the Athletes’ Village, and sharing a meal with 850 of your best new friends and competitors. Marching into the arena in a sea of green for the Opening Ceremony, filled with anticipation and ready to size up your rivals. Experiencing the heartbreak of an injury mid-competition or coming down with the paddlers’ plague one minute, then turning around to lose your mind celebrating with your teammates the next. Battling the prairie elements together – rain, wind, hot or cold – sometimes all in the same hour. Sharing intense competition, camaraderie, and fair play with the best of the west and the north. Cheering your heart out for your team, no matter what the sport. Gaining friends and teammates for life.
