My Upcoming Trip to Athens Spring 2020

In April 2020, my team and I will be traveling to Athens, Greece to host the International Meeting on Advance Spine Techniques (IMAST). As part of the Scoliosis Research Society we host two big meetings per year and smaller courses around the world. IMAST gathers leading spine surgeons, innovative researchers, and the most advance spine technologies in an international forum. And even though this is primarily a work trip, I'm looking forward to exploring the city!

Athens, the capital of Greece, is known for being one of the oldest cities in the world and the heart of Ancient Greece.

The Parthenon, located at the Acropolis which means hill, is one of the most famous buildings in Athens. At the Acropolis one is also able to see many of the monuments, temples to Greek gods, and one of the oldest theaters in the world.

Athens is full of history and is still dominated by 5th-century B.C. landmarks from Ancient Greece.

While in Athens I am looking forward to exploring the city. I have read many blogs, travel sites, and informational brochures about the city, and they have given me a good idea of the places I want to visit and the colorful neighborhoods I want to explore. I want to visit the village of Plaka and Monastiraki, the Acropolis Museum, the Temple of Zeus, and some delicious restaurants. Athens has a lot of offer its visitors and I'm very excited for this!

The beauty of Athens can be found in all corners of the city.
I can't wait to explore this city full of history!

I am looking forward to go back to Greece and see a different side of it. While I explored Santorini and loved it, I cannot wait to see more of this beautiful and historical country.
