Note that this exam is used for certification renewal. You will not be able to earn a certification by just passing this exam. In order to have your certification renewed, you must already be certified as an AEM Developer.

Minimum Candidate Experience

A minimally qualified AEM as a Cloud Service Developer typically has the following work experience:

• Hold a valid certification as an AEM Developer
• Is a software developer with a minimum of 1-year AEM development experience using version 6.3 or higher.
• The candidate should be able to create, extend and configure templates and components, build and configure OSGi components and services, and use Sling and JCR API.
• The candidate should have general knowledge about Apache Maven and be able to set-up their own environment (e.g., Java SDK, and AEM). In addition, candidates should be able to test applications and troubleshoot AEM projects.
• Worked on at least one AEM as a Cloud Service project or has worked on an AEM Managed Services project with Cloud Manager.

Exam Objectives and Scope

Section 1: Using Cloud Manager (26%)

You should be able to configure a production and non-production pipeline and execute code quality checks. You should be able to troubleshoot and maintain environments by using Adobe IO console for Cloud Manager and use the Cloud Manager APIs.

Section 2: Setting up the development environment (18%)

You should be able to install and update the Quickstart JAR, configure the Cloud Manager GitHub, create an integration with Adobe IO, and use the Developer console.

Section 3: Maintaining AEM as a Cloud Service environment (10%)

You should be able to configure maintenance tasks through source code management and determine the correct approach to create and manage custom OSGi configurations through code and the Felix console.

Section 4: Configuring the Dispatcher (10%)

You should be able to setup the Dispatcher configuration for AEM as a Cloud Service and setup and configure the Dispatcher Validator.

Section 5: Using the Assets micro services (10%)

You should be able to create a custom processing profile.

Section 6: Executing the migration to AEM as a Cloud Service (26%)

You should be able to convert the On-Premise Dispatcher configuration to AEM as a Cloud Service and also convert the AEM Managed Services Dispatcher configuration to AEM as a Cloud Service. You should be able to consolidate multiple projects into a single GitHub project, and convert an existing project to an AEM as a Cloud Service project.

Online Sample Test (not available yet)

The sample test allows you to see the type and format of questions that you will encounter in the actual exam. There is no sign-on needed. The results of the sample test are not stored, and do not predict your actual test results.

Preparing for the Exam

You are not required to complete training before taking the exam, and training alone will not provide you with the knowledge and skills required to pass the exam. A combination of training and successful on-the-job experience are critical to providing you with the repository needed to pass the exam.
