Studio Art Thesis Exhibition LVC Celebration of the Class of 2020

The Studio Art Thesis Exhibition 2020 presents the work of 12 students in the Lebanon Valley College. Their projects were completed in the program capstone, Directed Studio (ART 440), and were intended to be displayed in the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery on campus. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the artists completed their work remotely and are presenting virtually here.

As the exhibition makes clear, the range of ideas and aesthetic approaches is diverse. In some cases the projects represent the culmination of individual students’ artistic interests developed during their years at Lebanon Valley College, while others approached this as an opportunity to experiment with new concepts and media. One significant difference from previous thesis exhibitions is the inclusion of three students from disciplines outside the visual arts who began their coursework in the Creative Arts Program in the Fall 2019 semester. Their projects are a testament to the value of humanistic inquiry and artistic exploration in the liberal arts.
