The Product
Budding Bee is a subscription service that gives people the ability to create bee friendly gardens in their own home or outdoor area. We will help the bees by giving people the proper tools and plants that they need to create the bee friendly gardens. The service wants to give people a way to help bee populations in their own backyard or in their outdoor area.
This is the video of the First Time Gardener Box, which is one of 3 box types that is available.
The Problem
The bee population decline is a very serious issue, since so many plants and crops are pollinated by the bees. So, it is something I am passionate about and wanted to create something that would help the bees.
The reason I created the Budding Bee idea was because of the bee population decline. The bee population decline also has a name, which is Colony Collapse Disorder. There are many different possible causes, but one of them is a lack of biodiversity. This lack of biodiversity made me think of creating a way for people to have their own bee friendly gardens. These bee friendly gardens would help to create more biodiversity for the bees. So that is how I came to the idea of the subscription box because it does all the research for the customer and then they can easily start their own bee friendly garden with the Budding Bee subscription box service.
The Target Audience / Data Viz
The initial target audience for my Product is young environmentalists aged 18 to 28. I want to target this group first because they are the ones who do buy subscription boxes and there are a lot of young people who identify as environmentalists. For the future of Budding Bee I would expand the target audience to all ages of environmentalists.
My survey results helped me figure out what type of product to use for my projects idea and also reassured me that people would be willing to plant to help the bees.

Why my Idea is Different?
The idea is different from a lot of other things out there that are trying to help the bees. There is not a subscription box that is for creating bee friendly gardens, but there are plenty of gardening subscription boxes and they're just for gardening. There are bee sanctuaries that are helping bees, and apps that tell you about flowers that attract bees, but they do not give you all the tools for making bee friendly gardens. My idea is different because it considers people's time and does the research for them so all they have to worry about is gardening.
