With 2018 in our rearview, it's time to look forward into not so distant horizon to see what the most popular trends for 2019 interior design will be. You will see these popping up in homes, restaurants and magazines this year. We scoured the interweb and compiled everything for you here; blog posts, social media posts and articles from the top interior designers. So what did we find? Well honestly, it's a bit eclectic this year and there is no overarching commonality between the design ethos for 2019 so we wont try to make sense of it. Sometimes what is good is...well just good! Expect to see more of this paint color in homes and incorporated into home decor this year. For years Pantone has been defining color trends, and this year is no exception. Handcrafted authenticity
Look to see more focus on put on handmade and smaller furniture companies via platforms like ETSY that are able to deliver much higher quality at increasingly more competitive prices. We see a movement away from overpriced sweatshop made mass produced furniture made in China ala companies like Design Within Reach, West Elm. The latest wallpaper trend taking the interior design world by storm are bold tropical prints and botanicals with a retro twist."Bringing the outside in to your home has been a growing trend for many seasons. TERRAZO
Terrazzo, the 80’s era formica-esque pattern normally reserved for floor tile, has been trending over the past few seasons on everything from subway tile to restaurant interiors. It was only a matter of time that it would appear as a one of our main interior design trend predictions 2019 withstanding. Playful, abstract, and totally radical, Terrazzo is great for a home with eclectic or mid-century modern interiors as it works perfectly with the mood of both. Plus, since its background is usually based around a neutral, it will help any room appear larger and more open.

BRASS ACCENTS
Polished Brass has been popular for several years, so were not surprised it's on our list of top interior design trends for 2019. We like seeing brass used in moderation to punch up bathroom decor or living rooms by adding visual and textural interest and to otherwise mundane objects. This dining table by MODERNCRE8VE harnesses the perfect balance of glam and elegance, with brass being incorporated into the end caps and into the table in a random geometric pattern that begs for a closer look.

The golden age of aviation
We've seen similar trends like this in past few years but more found them to be too literal to have longevity, specifically upcycled airplane parts being turned into chairs and thing of the like. Rather than using the actual materials of the planes, we predict a shift towards towards the architecture and structural engineering of aeronautics, (specifically the things you don't normally see) being implemented into furniture this year.
