What does it mean to be successful?

Junior Kelisha Davis said, "To me, success means accomplishing the things you dreamed of doing. Doing your best to be the best until everything is finished."

Davis continued, "Being able to say you did something that you are proud of."

Freshman Kailyn Lewis said, "The only way I look at success is meeting your goals." Lewis continued, "If I meet all of the goals I set for myself, I consider myself successful."

Junior Justine Blackwood said, "I believe that success isn't necessarily just getting good grades, having a lot of money, etc. I think that the root of success is really happiness and making sure that you're doing something you love."

Blackwood believes that if you aren't happy, then you aren't successful.

"Because you're rich and 'successful,' but you aren't happy, then what good does that do for you?" she continued.

Junior Omarion Sanders-Field said, "What it means to be successful is succeeding a challenge or a goal they set for themselves."

He named some examples such as passing high school, getting a first car, or even paying something off.

Sophomore Unique Payton said, "The meaning of success to me is meeting your short-term and long-term goals."

Payton continued on to say, "Success to me is also being proud of what you have accomplished."

Sophomore Merrie Crawford said, "To me, being successful means being happy and healthy in the life I'm living."

Crawford believes that to be successful she has to be content with the little things in life and finding balance with those things.

Crawford said, "Stable job, stable relationships, house or apartment, probably some pets, etc."
