Teri Hofford & Kevin Lowery approach intimate photography with the same amount of passion for empowering people to own the skin they're in; celebrating their bits for what they are instead of what society thinks they should be. Kevin focuses more on the vulnerability that we rarely see in men, while Teri focuses on showing women of all shapes and sizes that they are worthy of being photographed DESPITE what media says. For the St. Louis workshop, Teri & Kevin have teamed up with someone who also shows his clients that they are capable of becoming art. Boon Ong is an intimate photographer from Calgary, Alberta, Canada and has become recognized for the quiet confidence prevalent in his work. These 3 photographers are going to walk you through their processes, but also inspire you to create images that change the people within them.
Teri Hofford is a body image activist and award-winning boudoir specialist based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Teri channels her desire to change the way women think about themselves, getting them to stop focusing on changing their bodies, so they can get to changing the world. Teri has been published in a variety of magazines such as FabuPlus and GEEZ magazine, in addition to having a variety of images selected for recognition by Vogue.it, AIBP (Association of International Boudoir Photographers), Do More Wear Less, and Lace & Light. In addition to her photography work, Teri has become recognized in Canada & the US for her contribution to the women's empowerment movement by various media outlets like CBC, Global, and CTV News.
Kevin Lowery is a glittery llama unicorn ninja photographer specializing in intimate nude and couples portraits. Kevin’s work focuses on vulnerability and connection, and it seeks to celebrate the honest beauty in every human body. Being a queer artist himself, he is specifically interested in telling the love and self love stories of other queer people. Kevin lives in Atlanta with his husband and their 2 year old son, Grey.

Boon Ong is an Intimate Lifestyle & Figurative Art photographer based in Calgary, AB Canada. He first photographed fine art nude in 2013 and completely hooked with the genre. Born and raised in Malaysia from a conservative asian family, it was the sense of rebellious and contradiction to his upbringing that kept Boon exploring more into this genre. Simple, Honest, Truthful are the guiding mottos in Boon's work. His ambition is to use intimate lifestyle & figurative art as a way to yell for new freedom, to break down barriers and taboos, to create space for people to find confidence in their own body and sexuality. Over the last few years, Boon has received numerous awards and been featured in magazines, blogs and art gallery, including International Photography Awards, Do More Awards, Rangefinder Magazine, Feather Gallery, etc. His work is also being used as educational reference material by Emily Carr University of Art & Design, Vancouver.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO COVER?
*Kevin will cover the WHY behind his Skin Like Dawn project & photographing men & intimate couples. Kevin will do a live shoot showcasing how he works with his clients to get them to loosen up and more importantly, how he gets his male clients to lose the macho act and tap into their vulnerability. Kevin will also share his tricks & tips for keeping your blog active & interesting!
*Teri will cover the WHY behind intimate portraiture for women and how to photograph women of all shapes and sizes without letting your own insecurities cloud the way. Teri will do a live shoot, showcasing how she interacts with her clients. In addition, Teri will cover the ins & outs of what has and has not worked for her business and if there is time, she will also cover her editing techniques!
*Boon will cover the WHY behind the way he shoots & his intention with every image. You will watch as he executes a live shoot so you can see how he brings out his clients' inner most thoughts & feelings. Boon will also teach the importance of blog layout & creating a story line that will WOW the viewers every time!
*In addition to the 3 different ways of shooting, all 3 photographers will weigh in on their business perspectives as they all come at their photography businesses with different mindsets, showing you that there is not ONE WAY to be successful in the photography industry.
