Whether you're just starting out or simply need a refresher, here are 5 useful things you should be familiar with in Adobe Photoshop.
1. Select and Mask
Used to cut an object out of its background, select and mask offers you a variety of tools such as the quick selection tool, refine edge tool, brush tool, and lasso tool to precisely select and cut out an object. Here are some helpful websites that walk you through it.
2. Clone Stamp Tool
The clone stamp tool copy allows you to copy the exact detail and color from one part of an image to another area. It's useful for removing unwanted objects or imperfections from an image. Check out the following websites for tutorials.
3. Adjustment Layers
Adjustment layers allow you to make color and tonal edits (such as brightness, saturation, vibrance, and more) to your image without permanently changing the pixels, so you can restore the original image at any time.
4. Automatic Fixes
If you want a quick fix to the appearance of photos, Photoshop will do the work for you with some auto options. Auto tone, contrast, and color shown above will affect the image directly, but some of the adjustment layer options will offer auto fixes as well. Check out the following links for more help.
5. Adding Borders
For a finishing touch on photos, you can add a border of any color you choose. The links below go into detail about how to do this.
