Broadside & Brews Logo Exploration

Logo Options

Please keep in mind that these logos are in a very rough draft state. The logo fonts can be exchanged and layouts can be rearranged or expanded upon. Why black and white? I like to show the logos in black first. Branding always looks better with color, so if you don't like them in their most basic state, you probably won't like them ever.

Style One

Client's Request

Directly based on Joni's illustration and logo mood board. Use of requested "Niconne" font. Four options we could run with.

Style Two

Modern Vintage

This font is bold, minimal, and modern with a vintage twist. The use of star ornaments are an ode to the broadway music played at Don't Tell Mama's.

Style Three

Through the Looking Glass

An interpretation of Alice in Wonderland, this logo is sort of spooky but magical. The font is called "Prohibition" which suits the bar's theme. The arrow points North to symbolize North Carolina and "following your arrow where-ever it points."

Style 4

Whimsical + Simple

Inspired by the "Changing Perspective" theme. This style comes with a diverse icon pack to use on social media, menus, etc.

Color Examples

Here are the logos in color. The colors chosen are random and will be finalized next round (unless you just really love one). I think it's important to put some life into these to show their real potential, and possibly inspiring you in selecting a color palette later.

Logos on Things

Here are the logos in some practical situations. Thinking about real-life examples before deciding on branding direction is important.

The Next Steps

1. Download the Logo PDF and get up close and personal.

2. Send feedback. Don't know where to start? Try this list:

  1. Give Precise Directions: Details on what you wish to remove or include. What do you hate? What do you love? Is the font too plain? Is the design too complex?
  2. Ask Questions: Is something confusing? Need more explanation? Just let us know.
  3. Talk About How You Feel: When giving feedback, worry about your thoughts and feelings first.
  4. Wait It Out: We advise to give it a couple days to think over the designs before giving feedback. Check on them a few times during different parts of your day.
