Budapest, Hungary (Day 1) - Soaked

We have finally come up for air!

After the typical marathon 24hr flight from Australia, we finally landed in Europe. (Budapest, Hungary to be precise). The starting point of this holiday adventure.

We acknowledge that we haven’t got off to a good start with the proverbial “blog”, but we have, as usual packed too tight an itinerary and we simply don’t want to miss out on anything, so the blog took a back seat!

After arriving, we caught the Budapest airport shuttle bus into the city and by 3pm we were hitting the pavement. It didn’t take us long to see past a little of the shabbiness of the well worn city of Budapest to see its impressive beauty along the Danube river.

As our accommodation was located on the Buda side of the Danube, we spent the next 5 or so hours exploring all that the Buda side can offer including a visit with our bathing costumes to the Gillért Baths for a nice relaxing soak to rejuvenate our weary jet lagged bodies before finding some real food to eat and finally crashing for the evening!
