The Westport Public Library renovation project is in the works as many parts of the library are being re-modeled and re-designed,
The outside of the library is fenced off by a construction zone.
However, the first floor of the library is now open with new structures inside.
The entrance to the library has been relocated to the side with a stone path leading the way.
Inside, people are able to check out books and get help from the librarians in a new space.
Students can be seen doing homework and studying for finals at group and individual tables.
One thing that remains the same is the aisles of books that one would expect to find in the library.
More space is available for people to hang out in and use the library computers.
Seating is available with a view of the Saugatuck river.
The renovation project will not be totally complete until the summer of 2019, however, expect more areas to open in the upcoming months.
