SUITES: At Reef Sri Lanka we offer seven private luxurious suites:
One Lily Pond Suite. Olu; four Ocean Suites; one Manel Plantation House Suite, and one Nelum Plantation House Suite.
The elegant suites are immense; they are all air-conditioned and feature unique, antique, romantic four poster canopied beds giving a feeling of relaxed grandeur.
All suites have spacious shaded verandas which overlook either lush, verdant gardens or views of the sparkling blue Indian Ocean.
The furniture is a combination of antique pieces and contemporary items based on furniture as used by members of the East India Company.
The highly decorated antique Calcutta four poster beds were used during the British Raj and these, together with the antique electric fans and ceiling fixed punkah fans, enhance the Colonial style.
LILY POND SUITE, OLU: Size : 46m2 plus veranda of 30m2 and planted enclosed courtyard shower of 12m2. This exquisite suite is a gem hidden amongst the tropical lily ponds and is accessible by stepping stones across the pond or via the Plantation House.
This suite is on the same level as the ground floor of the Plantation House allowing for easy access. It has all the features of all other rooms except it does not have an ocean view but marvels in its privacy amongst the foliage and flowers. The room has antique doors to a shaded veranda with a coffee table and chairs overlooking the lily pond and running the length of the room. Leading from the bedroom is an enclosed open to stars tropical planted courtyard with its own private sunken mosaic tiled spa bath. It also features a hand hewn granite waterfall shower. A cot may be added to the Lily Pond suite at an additional charge
OCEAN SUITES: There are four Ocean Suites. These elegant suites are immense; they are all air-conditioned and feature unique antique romantic four-poster canopied beds together with soaring ceilings lined with Kerala terracotta tiles that give a feeling of relaxed grandeur.
All suites have timber slatted doors to their spacious shaded veranda for private dining and antique Indian swings, which overlooks lush, verdant gardens and views of the sparkling blue Indian Ocean. Every suite features an enormous bedroom and a lavish bathroom with kumbuk timber floors, and a huge polished granite bath tub and tranquil courtyards;
All suites have walk in dressing rooms with armoires and a dressing table. The furniture is a combination of antique pieces and contemporary items based on furniture as used by members of the East India Company. The highly decorated antique Jacobean Calcutta four poster beds were used during the British Raj and these, together with the antique electric fans and ceiling fixed punkah fans, enhance the Colonial style. The contemporary Bharat hand crafted coloured floor tiles, replicating the famous encaustic tiles, invented by 12th Century monks, are the legacy of the magnificent decorative floors which were so popular in the Colonies from the end of the nineteenth century. They are beautiful and cool underfoot.
The bathrooms are enormous with rain showers and Venetian style mirrors. The twin basins, freestanding bathtubs and shower screens are all polished granite testament of fine Indian craftsmanship. In the bathrooms you will find a selection from an exquisite array of beauty products by Kama Ayurveda of India guaranteed to pamper your body, heighten your imagination, and soothe your mind. They offer relaxation and beauty whilst enriching and stimulating the senses. From the bathrooms step outside to a private walled tropical garden, with its open to stars, hand hewn granite waterfall shower. Two of the Ocean Rooms (Namal & Kekatiya) can be interconnecting for families. All rooms face the ocean and all rooms have a dual or triple aspect. All rooms can accommodate two additional children's beds, two of which can accommodate three additional children’s beds.
NAMAL Size : 105m2 including a veranda and also a planted enclosed courtyard with a shower.
KEKATIYA - Size : 102m2 including a veranda and also an enclosed planted courtyard with a shower.
SAPUMAL - Size : 85m2 including a veranda and also an enclosed planted courtyard with a shower.

MANEL PLANTATION HOUSE SUITE
Size : 90m2 plus decked shaded veranda of 25m2 and planted enclosed courtyard shower of 7m2.
This elegant suite is the second largest suite at Reef. It is on the first floor of the Plantation House and offers greater privacy than the Ocean Suites.
It has all the features of all other suites with the addition of a spacious Burma teak sun-kissed veranda overlooking the gardens, the swimming pool and a terrace with sun beds, coffee table and chairs. Perfect for viewing magnificent sunsets over the Indian Ocean.
This suite also has an enclosed planted courtyard with granite water fall shower leading off the bathroom. This suite has a walk-in dressing room.
NELUM PLANTATION HOUSE SUITE: Size : 90m2 plus two decked verandas of 15.5m2 and 46m2.
This elegant suite is the largest suite at Reef Villa. It is on the first floor of the Plantation House and offers greater privacy than the Ocean Suites. It has all the features of all other suites except it does not have an outdoor shower but features two extensive Burma teak verandas.
One veranda runs along the north side of the suite, overlooking the ponds and its teeming wildlife and a further Burma teak sun-kissed veranda, overlooks the Indian Ocean. This suite has a walk-in dressing room. Perfect for viewing magnificent sunsets over the Indian Ocean. The veranda is furnished with a coffee table and chairs and dining table and chairs
THE PLANTATION HOUSE: The Plantation House offers an extensive triple height living area and dining room with terraces which face the lily ponds and the Indian ocean. Ideal for afternoon tea and cocktails.
We have a selection of contemporary as well as antique games.
PRIVATE DINING: The Plantation House offers a dining table that seats 14 for private dining for families or groups.
PLANTATION HOUSE BAR: We have a fully licensed bar where we offer a wide variety of alcoholic beverages including Champagne, fine wines and cocktails. Guests may enjoy their favourite tipple around the pool, on their private veranda, on the beach or at our Plantation House Champagne Bar.
SUMMER BREEZE, COASTAL CUISINE: Dining is a special experience at Reef. Guests can choose to dine at our Summer Breeze restaurant by the pool under illuk thatched timbers with a gentle breeze from the Indian Ocean or may dine al fresco under the stars. Whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner, our Head Chef and his team have designed a menu of exceptional quality featuring the best of both International and Sri Lankan cuisine and fine wines. Choose from the extensive a la carte menu.
Guests may also request to be served on their private veranda or in the more formal surroundings of the Plantation House accompanied by the frog chorus from the ponds surrounding the Plantation House. All current menus are downloadable from our website.

It is generally safe to swim in the sea by the beach at Reef from December to April, but as always it is weather dependent.
TENNIS AND TABLE TENNIS: We have an all weather LTA sized tennis court. Racquets and balls are available for guest's use. We also have a table tennis pavilion.
TROPICAL GARDENS: Set in just under three acres of land, Reef Villa & Spa is set in extensive landscaped tropical gardens containing a wide variety of exotic plants and trees including for bottle palms, wax palms, travellers palms and various species of heliconia. One particular plant of interest is popularly known as Elephant Ear whose leaves can grow from 1-2 metres long
The tropical plants and protected gardens attract a variety of birds, insects and fauna.
LILY PONDS: Two contrasting lily ponds in the gardens are stocked with a wide variety of fish offering a quiet place to read. Fish species include for gorami, koi carp and three- foot long catfish.
AVIARY: Our aviary stocked with a variety of cockatiels and parrots offers entertainment for children.
WEDDINGS, BUDDHIST BLESSINGS AND RENEWAL OF VOWS: Civil weddings, renewal of vows, Buddhist ceremonies, and Catholic or Methodist blessings can be arranged. At Reef we lavish a great variety of options for a reception; be it ocean side, pool side by the coconut grove or highly recommended at our magnificent Plantation House . Here, soaring ceilings and a majestic sweeping staircase, all surrounded by tropical lily ponds, come together to provide a truly heavenly setting for a wedding of a lifetime.

Church weddings can also be arranged with the reception following at Reef. The maximum size of a wedding is 50.
CONCIERGE SERVICE: Guests can pre-book services such as Champagne on arrival, personal fireworks display, a bouquet of flowers, a flower decorated suite or chocolates to ensure that their special stay at Reef is just that little bit more special.
PHOTOGRAPHER: A photographer is available on request to record a guest's stay at Reef Villa & Spa.
EXCURSIONS: We offer various excursions by car to include for visits to Ambalangoda, Brief Gardens, Colombo, Galle, Kandy, Kaluthara, Pinnawella, Ratnapura, Sinharaja, Yala.
We arrange day trips that can include champagne picnics
CHILDREN: Children are very welcome at Reef and are accommodated at an additional charge. Cots or children’s beds can be provided.
There is a maximum of two children per suite although the Plantation House Suites and a couple of the Ocean Suites can accommodate three children’s beds.
High chairs, children's cutlery and crockery, and booster seats are all available in the restaurant. A children's menu is available for children age 2-12. A potty is available.
Two of the Ocean Suites are interconnecting and are perfect for families or friends who are travelling together.
Please note that there are extensive water features at reef and we request that parents supervise their children particularly when playing near the ponds, on the beach and in the swimming pool.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS: Airport transfers are available at an additional cost. We use our own air conditioned cars with uniformed drivers and with complimentary wi-fi.

SUSTAINABILITY
Reef Sri Lanka is committed to protecting the environment and to protecting the present for the future generations. 100% of our lighting is low energy, our ponds help reduce the load on air conditioning, we use guppy fish in the ponds that eat mosquito larvae, our wet waste is given to the local piggery, we treat our well water to minimise the use of plastic bottles, we recycle waste wherever possible to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill and 90% of our run off rainwater is recycled; these are just some of the things we do.
GETTING TO REEF VILLA & SPA
BY AIR: Sri Lanka's international airport Bandaranaike International Airport is well serviced with a host of airlines flying from Europe, Asia and the Indian Subcontinent
BY CAR: Reef Sri Lanka is 45 minutes drive south of Colombo and approximately 60 minutes drive from Bandaranaika International Airport, on the main Colombo Galle road.
BY HELICOPTER: Helicopter transfers can be arranged and the landing point is a playing field about five minutes away from Reef.
