If you think that you can only find nothing more than authentic Chinese restaurants along Banawe in Quezon City, you should know that there are also a few establishments where you can devour great cuts of steak without breaking your bank. One of which, is Sear Steak Scullery.
Sear Steak Scullery's main specialties include perfectly seared steaks, a wide range of appetizers, pasta and plates paired along with some cool cocktails and wine from their bar. The place is also popular for their outrageous milkshakes a chugging train that is installed high above their ceiling.
Starters
As soon as you enter the resto, you'd instantly feel like being part of a cowboy movie. Take a seat, order what you want, and while waiting, take a bite at their complimentary bread with Cilantro and Pimento compound butter.
As for other starters, there's the Truffle Fries which is topped with a special truffle cream sauce and their crispy and huge Onion Rings are spiked with cajun spices and tartar sauce.
Sear Steak Scullery also serves Cheese Fondue that's made with apenzeler, cheddar, gruyere and amaretto. This produced rather a runny consistency instead of being more stringy like what I've tried before. I would gladly want to dunk all of the bread in the fondue but I was controlling myself so I can try more dishes hahahahaha!
They also serve Pepperoni Tomato Spaghetti and Seafood Lasagna Negra. What's great about these dishes is the fact that the sauces they use are made of scratch.
Steak Plates and Mains
I tried the US Striploin which comes in with side dishes such as rice, veggies and steak gravy. This is something I would eat to satisfy my steak cravings quickly.
There's the Saikoro Wagyu Cubes, seared quickly until fork tender and glazed with BBQ sauce and topped with bonito flakes. This is good on its own but best served with rice!
They also have this amazing Iberico Pork with Kare Kare sauce that I secretly paired with the rice intended for the steak and wagyu plates above because there is just no point of eating this without rice 😋
The restaurant stays true to their concept of having perfectly seared steaks thanks to their Stone Grill Series, and one to order is their USDA Angus Ribeye that I just love. All their meats are marinated with only olive oil and it's up to you on how you want to season it (salt and pepper are provided). Definitely one of the best things you can order that is not even that expensive compared to other, more popular steakhouses (See Sear's menu below)!
My only wish is to bring this down South of Manila. Meantime, check out our massive feast!
And to think, we haven't had dessert yet. Check out these smashing milkshakes made from their in-house ice cream that's made especially with Holstein Milk. Choose from the Huckleberry Milkshake, S'mores Milkshake and Ube Milkshake.
The owner also swears by the Chocolate Cake available at Sear Steak Scullery which is a recipe from her mom, to which he said, is "close to my heart....💟"
And having so much food made me want to have coffee, or perhaps, a cocktail? Yep! Try getting the Paloma and Whiskey Sour for an after lunch drink!
