Meet Ms. Megan Banes, K-3 Acellus teacher.
Ms. Banes enjoys spending time with her family. She likes teaching for the Virtual Learning Academy because of the connections she has made with the students and families. Teaching was a calling and a family tradition, her mom, aunt and gradmother are all teachers. "It is where I find the greatest success and get the greatest joy."
Ms. Banes loves to fish, she once caught a halibut in Alaska that was 120LBS and 6 feet long!
Meet Mrs. Kristen Simpson, K-1 Google Classroom teacher.
Mrs. Simpson enjoys spending time with her husband, Kelly and two boys, Ryan and Dempsey. As a family they enjoy skiing, biking, fishing and exploring new places. You can also find them snuggled up reading together. Mrs. Simpson became a teacher because she enjoys children and the relationships it fosters between herself, students and families. Mrs. Simpson loves the unique environment that a virtual classroom offers, collaborating with families to support the growth of their learners. "It is a shared expereince and shared experiences are always superior."
Mrs. Simpson's first teaching job was on the beautiful island of Kauai.
Thank you Megan Banes and Kristen Simpson for your love and commitment to education. We are greatful that you are part of the Pendleton Virtual Learning Academy.
