Social media has had a big impact on how we live our lives. Bigger than we've ever seen before. With the good that social media can do our society, will also bring the bad. In this article I will be talking about the good and the bad of social media.
The Good
Good influencers have the ability to sell items in a natural way. They also increase brand awareness. The best influencers can increase consumer loyalty by improving brand reputation. They can also assist a corporation in reaching out to particular consumers. They must, however, be trustworthy in order to be successful. Influencers should ideally resemble peers, making brands more relatable to the average consumer. They have the ability to humanize companies by putting a face on them.
According to studies, Instagram users prefer genuine influencers. Original content benefits brands. Glossier, a skincare and cosmetics brand, is proof of that. Rather than paying for big-name celebrities to spread the word, Glossier relies on normal people. They make use of regular customers as minimalist influencers to promote their products With the help of micro-influencers, their popularity has skyrocketed. These influential people are down-to-earth. Followers trust their thoughts because they feel like peers.
The Bad
Influencers have the ability to reach a large number of individuals. However, they must approach audiences with genuine material; faked product endorsements can have a negative impact on an influencer's impact. Influencers should convey stories in their own style rather than looking like blaring advertisements. The true tale of an influencer helps to develop a brand's image. On the other hand, flawless photos and hasty endorsements are usually a no-no. For example, Naomi Campbell unwittingly published the company's instructions when she posted a photo of herself wearing Adidas Kicks. The image of a brand and its influencer can be tarnished by staged material. And overt promotions can raise a ruckus in social communities, with the repercussions from followers being just as damaging.
