A lot of good reasons for a bike ride in France

Not one of France's best known rivers, the Lot flows west towards the atlantic at bordeaux

Small roads climb the steep sides of the gorge

the city of Cahors marks the end of the gorge

From here the lot winds through the famous malbec vineyards

the cycle trail passes through walnut orchards

Riding back to Entraygues, the main road has some spectacular natural features

An adjacent valley, the CÉlé is the route to the Grotte du Pech Merle with the ancient wall paintings, deep underground
