Algebra 2 Catapult Project

Students in all Algebra 2 classes studied parabolas near the end of the semester.

AP Lang Crime Scene

We created a crime scene in the professional library for ap lang students to practice drawing inferences. the snow day cancelled the activity until after break.

Kansas State Hospital Visit

Mrs. Cornelius accompanied Psychology students to the Kansas State Hospital in Osawatomie. Over 50 students attended the field trip and were able to hear from the superintendent, nurses, social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists, and patients at the hospital. We also took a tour and viewed buildings scheduled for demolition where children and women used to live. The current KSH can treat 174 patients. The psychiatrist, in particular, was very impressed by the knowledge and complexity of questions asked by the students.

Senior Research Paper Completion

Terri and abby finished grading research papers for seniors. we had our best results in 14 years in terms of student work and we reflected with our colleagues about the work that helped students do well. We also discussed further changes we can make in the future.

Psychology Research

Students in Psychology classes learned about the differences in quality of sources when researching. Students also practiced digital citizenship skills by using databases, learning to take notes with PowerPoint, and citing sources in APA format.
