Book summary
The main character Brent has hid his dark fellings of ending his life and decides to light him self on fire one day after school. After being saved by his older brother through burn care Brent goes through the recovery of his physical and mental health. During therapy Brent finds he can’t rember what made himself want to die and learns that now it all seems so small to him. Returning to high school with a new mindset on his life.

The author gave the reader an image of what the main character was thinking, feeling, and living, through the disjointed thoughts by spacing Brent’s thoughts. The author focused on repetition to show the state of Brent.
During Brent’s recovery Brent not only becomes closer with his mom but also is more open about his suicidal thoughts with his mom mending the damage that has came with brents accident.
