Lost Good Boy

I chose this photo because I spotted this lost stuffed animal at my neighborhood park. I want the viewer of my photo to notice how in focus the puppy is and how the reflection is seen through the plastic eyes of the toy. Personal attachment I have to this photo is that it reminds me of my childhood and how often I used to play with my stuffed animals. Not only this but it reminds me of my younger brother and how he still plays with toys. Compositional element represented here is move up close. The stuffed animal fills up the whole frame of the photo. When I was at the park and spotted this toy, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to capture a shot. The abandoned toy motivated me to take a photo because of how petite and endearing it looked.

Hungary's Architecture

This photo was chosen for my portfolio because the little statue building created a good photo opportunity because of its small shape. This souvenir was gifted to me by my sister when she went to Europe over the summer. In this photo I want the viewer to focus on all the little details represented on the subject, including the man riding a carriage as well as the details on the architecture. A compositional element represented here is framing. The souvenir is framed by the rock bench in the background. What prompted me to take this photo was how perfect the object was placed in front of the arc framed in the back. As I approached to take this photo, I made sure the sun was directly on it so the lighting could be better.

Elementary Nostalgia

This photo was chosen because of how the crayon is represented. This photo also reminds me of my younger days as I spent quite a lot time working with crayons in elementary school almost everyday. I want the viewer to notice how the crayon is not in perfect shape but is still represented in a beautiful way. A compositional element represented here is also move up close. The crayon almost fills up the whole frame of the photo but not quite all the way, it is just a really close up photo. When I spotted this plant I thought it was a perfect place to place the crayon as the leaves were propped up and big enough to hold. The time leading up to take the photo I made sure that the crayon was placed right with the logo facing right up.

Pre-Workout

I have chosen this photo because of how good the focus is on my friend Erica. This photo was taken one day after school before Cross Country practice in Mr. Soderlund's classroom. This photo is special to me because it captures a candid photo of my very good friend. I hope the viewer notices how in focus the photo is that you can notice the smallest details. A compositional element seen here is move up close. The face of my friend fills up the frame. What prompted me to take this photo was when I was just having a normal conversation with her and the lighting in the room was good so I decided to take a photo.

Sunset State of Mind

The bright colors in the sky made me chose this photo for my portfolio because of how beautiful it looked. Personal attachment I have to this photo is how much I adore beautiful sunsets. No matter what day it is, when the sun sets and the colors are nice it makes me admire how wonderful the world works at times. A compositional element represented here is contrast. The silhouette of the trees are seen in the front with the sunset in the background. What motivated me to take this photo was how nice the sunset was and it made a perfect picture opportunity.

Water Rocket Fascinations

This photo was chosen for my portfolio because of the unique and genuine reaction given by the student as a water rocket bursted into the sky. I want the viewer to not only notice the boy in the front who is greatly amazed with what he has seen, but also the boy featured in the background who's fascination is just as genuine. Compositional element represented here is rule of thirds. The boy is in the bottom right corner where the intersection is. What prompted me to take this photo was all the different reactions that many of the students were giving. Prior to taking the photo, I ensured to pick a group of students to choose so I could have a small group to photograph their reactions.

October's Bloom

I have chosen this photo because of how beautiful the flower is represented. This flower was grown in my backyard by my mom. When someone views my image I hope for them to notice the focus in the center of the flower bud and how amazing the bloom came out in this. Compositional element represented here is move up close. Personal attachment I have to this photo is that it reminds me of my mom and how everything she grows is so nice. This photo was taken as I was exploring my backyard for a cool element to photograph. What motivated me to capture this flower was of how beautiful it was bloomed and how strong the color is.

Speedy Boy

This photo was chosen for my portfolio because of how different this photo is from all the other ones I have taken. I have never taken a photo like this before so it was a unique experience for me. Personal attachment I have to this photo is that I am a runner. So seeing a runner being represented here reminds me of myself and the long hours of practice I spend almost everyday at track and cross country. A compositional element represented here is contrast. There is a silhouette of a boy 'running' with the light as the background and the light streaks as where he was 'running'. What prompted to me to take this photo was how cool it looked and the lights made for a different element I have never worked with before.

Stunning Succulent

I chose this photo because of how beautiful the succulent looks. Personal attachment I have to this photo is how I grew up with succulents in my household all the time. I want the viewer to notice the small details in the plant how the shapes and petals of the plant are repeated throughout. A compositional element represented here is repetition of shapes. What prompted me to take this photo was the good lighting and time of day. I took a variety of photos of this plant with different angles and decided this was the best one.

Park Pathway

I chose this photo for my portfolio because it is different to the other photos I have taken. I want the viewer to notice how the cement curves and moves further away, leaving a question to where it is leading to. A compositional element represented here is leading lines. The cement border moves far away leading to something. What made me take this photo was when I was looking for different views and angles to take a photo. I got low to the ground and shot different variety of photos until I got this one.
