Detroit Lions 2021 Mock Draft

With the seventh pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select: Rashawn Slater offensive tackle Northwestern.
Slater starts at right tackle immediately and forever. Jared Goff needs a clean launch point to dissect defenses? Slater’s a hell of a janitor. 🧹
With the 41st pick of the 2021 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select: Richie Grant, Safety UCF
Grant is a legit playmaker on the back end. Remember when the Lions had a safety who could catch? Nice number kid. 🧤
With the 76th pick of the 2021 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select: Pete Werner, linebacker Ohio State University
Werner will play middle linebacker for a decade. Forgive his choice of university. It worked out OK for the Lions last time, alright? 5️⃣4️⃣
With the 101st pick of the 2021 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select: Josh Palmer, WR Tennessee
Third round receiver Josh Palmer’s quarterbacks were so bad most of his catches looked like this. Goff hits receivers in stride, but having someone who can do this doesn’t hurt. That coach is impressed and you should be too.😲
With the 112nd pick of the 2021 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select: Emerson Smith, defensive end University of Northern Iowa
Smith is an exceptionally athletic pass rusher from a small school. His 9.87 RAS should help him find a role in the NFL. 6’6” 260lb players who broad jump ten feet broad and 3.5 feet up are rare.🤯
With the 153rd pick of the 2021 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select: Trey McKitty, tight end Georgia
McKitty had two productive years at Florida State before he transferred to Georgia where the same coaches who thought Jake Fromm was better than Justin Fields decided not to let him ball out. He destroyed at the Senior Bowl. 6 catches all year, but top TE at an all-star game. 🤔
7: Rashawn Slater, OT Northwestern
41: Richie Grant, S UCF
76: Pete Werner, LB OSU
101: Josh Palmer, WR Tennessee
112: Emerson Smith, DE, UNI
153: Trey McKitty, TE Georgia
