VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR THE VBPS UPCOMING PRODUCTION We are in the process of organising costumes for all Viewbank students to wear at our 2019 Production – VMTV. Some of these costumes are being made by our amazing and talented costume coordinator Kathryn Harvey, who is a mum of two of our students at VBPS.

Kathryn would love some help and assistance with many jobs such as cutting fabric, sewing, overlocking and sorting. You do not need to be a sewer or own any of the equipment needed. However, if you can provide help with any job big or small, we would sincerely appreciate your assistance.

If you are able to volunteer some time or help Kathryn with some of these jobs, please contact the production team.

Many thanks,

Renee Davey, Jenni Hall & Kathryn Harvey

Code Club

Code Club is run on a Thursday at lunch time in the Library. It is aimed at students in years 2-6 who want to further their skills in coding. It is on a first come first serve basis as we only have a certain number of iPads available and students are not required to attend every week. Students are able to use apps such as Hopscotch, Code Studio, Scratch and Kodable. They will participate in activities at their own level and can create or just simply play to learn. Please note that Code Club does not run when there is a wet day timetable.

Year 6 Camp - Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER)

The Year 6 classes returned on Friday after spending five days touring the national capital. Our students participated in a variety of educational programs focussing on Australia’s history, culture, heritage system of government and democracy. The Federal Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit Canberra as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion, the Federal Government contributes $30 per student under the Civics and Citizenship Rebate Program. This rebate is paid directly to schools to reduce the costs passed on to families. Viewbank Primary School acknowledges the Australian Government’s generous support through the PACER contribution.

HATS ON From 1st September until 30th April school hats must be worn outside during all outside activities.
