Penn State visited Minnesota for the first time since 2013.
Pat Freiermuth (101 yds) and KJ Hamler (119 yds) became the first Nittany Lions to have 100+ receiving yards in the same game since DaeSean Hamilton and DeAndre Thompkins in 2017. It was Freiermuth's first 100-yard game and Hamler's fourth this season.
Journey Brown rushed for 124 yards - his second 100-yard game of the season - and a pair of touchdowns.
Jan Johnson had a career-high 3.0 tackles for loss.
Sean Clifford threw for 340 yards for his second career 300-yard passing game.
Micah Parsons led the defense with 11 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack.
Journey Brown tied the game at 7-7 early in the first quarter with a 45-yard touchdown run,
Jake Pinegar converted a pair of field goals to keep Penn State in striking distance, as Minnesota led, 24-13, at halftime.
Keaton Ellis forced a fumble that was recovered by Shaka Toney midway through the 3rd quarter.
Nick Bowers caught a 10-yard touchdown reception late in the 3rd quarter.
Trailing 31-19, Dan Chisena started a 4th quarter touchdown drive with a 20-yard reception.
Journey Brown scored his second touchdown of the day with 3:49 to go to pull Penn State within five points.
Jahan Dotson gave a Penn State a chance for the go-ahead touchdown with a 49-yard reception with less than two minutes to go.
Penn State hosts Indiana in Beaver Stadium Saturday at noon on ABC.
