Habitat for Humanity
Marisa Sauceda, Executive Director of the Red River Valley Habitat for Humanity spoke to the Grand Forks South Forks Lions Club on Tuesday, May 11. Marisa discussed the goal of the program attempting to assure that everyone has a decent place to live - the programs mission. She also spoke of the importance of the family buying into the building of the home and being a part of the process. A big part of the program are the volunteers. Volunteers are primarily responsible for the building of the home. South Forks Lions have helped build homes in the past. Please contact Marisa if you are interested in volunteering. Lions on the Links Off and Running
With nearly a month to go before the event the South Forks Lions are pleased with the tremendous interest being shown in the Lions on the Links golf scramble being held in memory of Lowell Schweigert and Wayne Westlund. Though not at capacity yet, spots are filling fast as golfers are signing up every day. The club is also pleased that so many businesses have responded by sponsoring a hole. The club anticipates that they will be at or near capacity, so, if your interested please click the link below to either sponsor a hole or sign up (individually or as a foursome) to golf. A lunch and dinner (steak is on the menu) will be served and is part of the fee.
MD5 Convention Coming May 20-22, 2021
Ok South Forks Lions it's time to support the MD5 Lions Convention. The convention is being held virtually, meaning online, so long travel is no excuse, you can participate from the comfort of your own chair in your own kitchen, with a cup of coffee. Our very own Del Hager is the convention chair so you can count on a great program. Guess how much this will cost, $25. That's right, just $25 will get you access to the entire convention. Lets make this the most successful convention ever, especially during these different times we live in. Please click the link below to register for the convention, you'll be glad you did!
Questions to Consider
Should or can I take a leadership role with the club? For example become the 3rd Vice President.
Shouldn't I be more involved in finding speakers for club meetings? We have great speakers every week yet I haven't really been responsible for bringing anyone in for a long time. I need to do that.
Can I bring a good service idea to the club?
Have I brought a new member into the club recently, if not, why not?
