Ziff played and started in 7 games until she was injured against St. Johns. Ziff found herself sidelined for the remainder of the season but was still an encouraging force from the sidelines.

"It was tough losing Jourdy (Ziff) so early on in the season, she's a key player in our offense. However, she remained a key motivating factor for the younger girls on the team and was a role model on and off the pitch" - Kevin Dempsey (Assistant Coach)

The Game

On Sept 8th, 2017, in a game against St. John's, Ziff went hard into a tackle and came out limping. Ziff ended up tearing a ligament in her ankle and would find herself sidelined for the rest of the season.

"It was difficult to stomach when the doctor told me I would be out for the rest of the season. I was without words" - Jourdan Ziff

The Comeback

Most people who find themselves in this situation will focus more on the negative rather then taking the opportunity to learn from and grow from the situation.

"It is never easy to go through an injury, it has been encouraging to see Jourdy turn this injury into a positive. She has been leading our younger girls and helping them grow both on and off the field" - Naomi Meiburger (Head Coach)

Shortly after her injury, Ziff began the long road to recovery. Ziff remained a positive role model through all of Spring season.

"I cannot wait to be back playing! I know I'm a long ways away from being game fit, but just being able to start running and kicking a soccer ball, feels great! - Jourdan Ziff

It will be a huge lift for the team to get Ziff back, she has continued her rehab and is itching closer to returning to full fitness.
